Getting Started with cPanel
Web Hosting Tips and Information

Logging into cPanel

Once you have signed up for a hosting account you will most likely receive an e-mail containing your user-id and password along with other important information etc.  This is a very important email and should be printed and saved as you may need to refer to it several times.

Once you have your details then you need to look at cPanel by launching your browser such as IE or Firefox and log into your cpanel.

The most common way to log into your cPanel will be www.yourdomain.com/cpanel but you can also log into it with http://111.111.111/cpanel (replacing 111.111 with your hosts IP) which will bring up a log in box to enter your user name and password

Once you are logged into cPanel you will see an interface along the lines of the following which is the standard "X" therme.

cpanel interface

Some hosts with have more or less features in the cPanel interface depending on the type of account you have sigtned up with or could even use a different interface such as XP revolution.

As you can see on the left hand side the cpanel shows the general account information such as how much disk space you have, the shared ip, how many add on domains (if any), how many sub domains you have (if any) how many email accounts you have etc.

At this stage it is a good idea to check this information is correct as mistakes do happen even to the best of us.
